Silicon Valley Young Professionals Network

We are proud to announce the newly established Human Rights Watch Young Professionals Network (HRW YPN) branch based in Silicon Valley, which joins the already established chapter in San Francisco. The Human Rights Watch Young Professionals Network was established by a dedicated group of volunteers in the Bay Area who support Human Rights Watch through outreach, advocacy, and fundraising. The new initiative works to promote the awareness of human rights issues through a series of public education events and strategic advocacy campaigns. In addition, the HRW YPN nurtures the next generation of philanthropists by hosting events to generate support for the organization and its mission.

Camelia Coupal, the co-founder of Coupa Café Corporation and a Silicon Valley Committee member, is our new chapter Chair. In 2016, Human Rights Watch Silicon Valley YPN hosted a moderated discussion with Human Rights Watch’s Emergencies Team Director Peter Bouckaert, an interview with Amy Rao on her leadership role as a Human Rights Watch board member, and a panel discussion on the current state of women’s rights around the world.
