Andrea Carvalho

Andrea Carvalho is a Brazil researcher with the Americas Division of Human Rights Watch.

She has researched and written on a wide range of topics, including police abuses, human rights defenders, gender-based violence, reproductive justice, Indigenous rights, and the human rights impacts of deforestation.

She has previously worked as a Senior Research Assistant with the Environment and Human Rights Division of Human Rights Watch and as a consultant for the Americas Division.

She holds a master’s degree in human rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a graduate of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and Faculdade Cásper Líbero, where she studied law and journalism.
