Jan Kooy

Jan Kooy is the Deputy European Media Director for Human Rights Watch. Based in Amsterdam, he is responsible for media outreach in Europe.

He previously worked as a reporter at the Dutch national newswire Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau, from 1999 to 2012. Jan worked at the Foreign Desk, covering a wide range of topics, among them human rights related issues. He co-wrote a chapter for the the Nooit Meer Qatar book, published in June 2022.
