The European Union should impose maximum sanctions on Myanmar military-owned companies, and adopt more sanctions against military leaders.

The US public health border expulsion policy, which primarily targets Black, Brown, and indigenous migrants and asylum seekers, is returning people to the harm they’re fleeing.

The Chinese tech companies and the government work together to spy on people. While the US also has a problematic history with privacy rights, it can take leadership by reforming its surveillance policies to protect citizens’ privacy and security.

 

With the recent increased hostilities in eastern Ukraine, international focus should be on civilian protection. 

Even with limited physical access to China, the UN should push for remote investigations into human rights abuses in Xinjiang.  

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has warned citizens of hard times ahead. Rights groups have raised concerns about a looming famine, and economic instability.

And finally, Mozambique president Filipe Nyusi has announced an investigation into human rights abuses in Palma, Cabo Delgado province. Hundreds were reported missing and displaced in the region after an attack by an armed Islamist group recently.
