John-Luke Venables
John-Luke is the Officer within the Chief Operating Office at Human Rights Watch, working closely with the COO and Chief of Staff. He project manages and coordinates various key initiatives and cross-functional projects of the Operations Leadership Team. In this role, he also supports HRW’s Executive Committee, the organization's foremost decision-making body.
Previously, he held the role of Acting Council Officer and Senior Associate on the Board and Council team, supporting the operations of the Board of Directors and the HRW Council, the organization’s primary vehicle to connect supporters to the human rights cause and engage them in global activities.
He received his B.A. in Political Science and French Studies from Fordham University. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, John-Luke interned at the Council of Europe’s Pompidou Group in Strasbourg, France and the International Rescue Committee in New York, USA. He speaks French.
