Khulood Badawi

Khulood Badawi, Israel and East Jerusalem Consultant at Human Rights Watch, has over 18 years of professional experience in human rights, humanitarian affairs, media and communications. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, she researched, documented and reported on human rights abuses in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory with several leading national and international organizations, including the Coalition for Women Equality in the Personal Status Issues in Israel, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA). She also worked for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), where she worked to enhance local institutional capacity. A former elected member of the municipality council of Nazareth City and a former member at the International Women's Commission for a Just and Sustainable Peace between Israel and Palestine, she holds a B.A degree from Haifa University in Arabic Literature and History of Jewish People.
