Sigrid Rausing Trust

Sigrid Rausing is the publisher of Granta Magazine, and the proprietor of Granta Books and Portobello Books. She is also an anthropologist, whose book, based on her PhD, History, Memory and Identity in Post-Soviet Estonia: the End of a Collective Farm was published by Oxford University Press in 2004. She has published a range of scholarly articles in numerous journals, and had a two year Honorary Fellowship at the Anthropology Department of University College London.In 1995 she founded a charitable trust (the Sigrid Rausing Trust), which funds projects and organisations in the areas of Civil and Political Rights, Women's Rights, Minority Rights, and Social and Environmental Justice. She has won three philanthropic awards, the International Service Human Rights Award (2004), the Beacon Special Award for Philanthropy (2005), and the Women's Funding Network’s Changing Face of Philanthropy Award (2006). She serves on the boards of Human Rights Watch in New York and Charleston, the former home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, in Sussex. She was a judge of the Amnesty Media Awards in 2009 and in 2010, and serves on the board of the Per Anger Prize and The Order of the Teaspoon in Sweden. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court.
 
In July 2010 she was made an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics.
