5-year-old girl has sores on her legs from the plastic boots she wore during the Darién crossing.
The girl, along with her mother and brother, fled Ecuador after her grandmother was killed. The journey across the Darién Gap is especially challenging for children, both physically and mentally, exposing them to hunger, accidents, and gender-based violence.
