Anik Willig

Intern, Health & Human Rights

Anik Willig is an intern at Human Rights Watch on the Health and Human Rights Team. She has assisted on the development of global health projects including efforts to prevent the use and export of highly hazardous pesticides.

Anik is an undergraduate student at Brown University studying International and Public Affairs and English Literature. Her studies have particularly focused on the intersection of immigration and health, including impacts of conflict and detention on the rights of migrants. She has served as a Case Leader and Immigration Advocate at the Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice, which provides legal representation to asylum seekers. She has collaborated on research projects on the experiences and health needs of Afghan refugees in Providence, and conditions of confinement in US detention centers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Anik also works as a Student Assistant at the Brown Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies, and as a Research Assistant within the Political Science Department.
